“I had no idea the proposal was coming. I thought we were just going to Sydney for our anniversary. But she’d planned it all out, asked my dad’s permission and everything.
He thought it was very sweet. He’s very emotional, so he started crying immediately.
On the day, she told me we were going to this fancy Mexican restaurant. But we were driving around the harbour, and I was thinking, “Where’s this restaurant?”
We got out of the car at this park on the water. She was holding my hand and I could tell how nervous she was. It didn’t click until we got really close, and I could see this big ‘marry me’ sign.
We were both just shaking and crying; it was really beautiful”.
