Asking “permission” to marry your partner!

Ok, you’ve got the ring, you’ve picked a date, and you have the team at My Proposal Co. running around organising you an amazing proposal that will blow your partners socks off… BUT there is one last thing to do… and that is to ask their father for their blessing (or mother or brother or someone). Traditional parents may feel that it is very important to ask their permission to marry your partner.

Why you should ask permission

Yes it’s very old school and super stressful but here are some reasons why we think its so important:

  • It will probably be one of the first questions your partner asks you when you pop the question
  • It shows a huge sign of respect to the parents and they will always remember this
  • He’s not going to say no (or will he?)
  • You need to man or wo(man) up

Its important to ask the question BEFORE you start planning your proposal, so that you are confident that your partner’s parents are onboard with your decision.

Once they say “YES!”

Once you have gotten “permission” to marry your partner, it’s time to start planning the proposal. Our expert proposal planners at My Proposal Co. are ready to help you create the perfect proposal. After you get that “YES!”, its always a nice idea to celebrate with your partners parents. This makes them feel like part of the experience and allows them to share this special moment with you both.

Now let’s do this!
