The Proposal
Danny and Mya’s Melbourne Aquarium proposal was the grand finale of a day packed with surprises. How They Met
Danny and Mya’s story started long before either of them knew where it was heading. They met at church youth group and grew up together, seeing each other week after week through their teenage years.
For a long time, it was the kind of friendship that felt more like family. They’d known each other for so long that it was an easy, innocent, almost sibling-like friendship. If you’d told them back then that they’d end up engaged one day, they probably would have laughed.
But as the years went by, something shifted. The friendship that had always felt so comfortable and familiar slowly grew into something deeper. There wasn’t one big dramatic moment where everything changed. It just quietly became more than friendship, and before long, it was obvious to everyone (including them) that this was the real thing.
Nine years later, Danny was ready to ask Mya to spend forever with him. And as Mya puts it, she can’t imagine her life without him.
How They Proposed
Danny didn’t want the proposal to be just one moment. He wanted the whole day to feel special, so he filled it with mysterious surprises from start to finish. Mya spent the day with no idea what was coming next, and every new surprise only added to the excitement.
Then it was finally time for the “main event”.
Danny took Mya on a tour around the Melbourne Aquarium. As they made their way through the exhibits, Mya was busy taking it all in, completely unaware that the tour was leading her somewhere very specific. At the end of it was Danny’s proposal spot, [ADD SETUP DETAILS], all waiting just for her.

For Mya, it was everything she could have hoped for and more. In her words, it was the most beautiful and memorable engagement she could ever have dreamed of.
And the night wasn’t over yet. To celebrate, Danny and Mya sat down to dinner inside the aquarium, the perfect way to toast their engagement and soak in everything that had just happened.
After nine years of growing up side by side, it feels only right that Danny and Mya’s engagement was a whole day of surprises leading up to one big moment.
