The Proposal:
Andrew surprised Eldia with a gorgeous picnic proposal set up by the Harbour Bridge with pink and white flowers, personalised photo frames and champagne! How They Met:
Andrew and Eldia first met when they were 16 through a mutual friend. They never really gave each other a chance to become anything more than friends as they were both still young. Over 10 years went by and they spoke about three times, but it was always bad timing. So, another five years go by and they had both just come out of long term relationships. Andrew added her on Instagram and Eldia decided to message him… from that day they never stopped talking. They FaceTimed every day, made each other laugh, and had similar interests. Their chemistry was so strong, and they quickly fell in love. They never understood when people said “when you know, you know”, but now they do. They are each other’s person!
How They Proposed:
Andrew told Eldia to get ready for her birthday dinner. The location of this ‘birthday dinner’ was a surprise so she had no idea where they were going all week. She continuously asked him questions like “what do I wear?” and “what kind of shoes would be appropriate?”. He ended up buying her an outfit and she got her makeup done professionally. Not only was it her birthday, but it was her first big outing since lockdown started. Fast forward to the day off, and they checked into The Crown Sydney, where he had organised the most amazing room for the two of them. Eldia thought they would be eating at the hotel, but Andrew booked them an Uber to take them to Kirribilli. She immediately thought they were going to Luna Park, however she was wrong again.
They walked down a road that lead them to a park facing the Harbour Bridge. She still had no clue what was going on at this point, as there were so many people having picnics outside. It didn’t click until she saw the picnic proposal with photos of them along an aisle of flowers. She cried to the point where she doesn’t even remember what Andrew said! She just cried and said YES! It was the most beautiful and romantic picnic proposal set up, and they will always cherish the memory of their proposal. To top it all off, he invited her besties to dinner and they surprised her at Cafe Sydney: her night could not get any better. The whole day and night was magical and she cannot wait to marry her best friend.
