The Proposal:
Luke surprised Kate with an elegant white themed hotel proposal with views of the city and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The balcony was perfectly decorated with white roses, candles and light up “Will You Marry Me” letters. An extra personal touch was added with helium balloons and hanging couple photos in the room. How They Met:
Luke and Kate first met after he put out an ad for a nanny for his three children. However, due to Kate’s new work commitments, she could no longer fill the position and they left it at that. Kate was single and came across Luke’s profile while browsing on RSVP. They started chatting from there and Luke messaged her “if you don’t find what you’re looking for on RSVP let me know and I’ll take you out for dinner”. She didn’t end up setting up a profile, but instead decided to take Luke up on his dinner date offer. So, that was 10 years ago and they have been together ever since!
How They Proposed:
Luke surprised Kate by arranging for a chauffeur to pick them up from their house to take them in to the city for what she thought was a celebration dinner at a hotel for her 40th birthday. She had no idea they were going to end up at Pier One Sydney Harbour! They were greeted with champagne and headed for their room. Luke who had his hands full with suitcases, asked if Kate could open the door for him. When she opened the door she could hear their favourite love song playing, and saw a sea of white helium balloons with pictures of the two of them over the years . She was gobsmacked as it was so beautiful and overwhelming!
As she entered the room and saw the white rose petal aisle and the photographer… she realised what might’ve been happening and made a B line to the bathroom. Her emotions took control and she felt overwhelmed with tears of joy starting to flow. After she composed herself, she walked through the rose petal aisle and saw the balcony styled with massive lit up “WILL YOU MARRY ME” letters. So, Luke dropped to his knee and asked her to marry him, and she happily said yes!
