The Proposal:
Tahmeed surprised Farzia with a stunning fairytale proposal in Sydney, with views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Decorated with gorgeous white and pink flowers, candles, and a “Will you marry me?” sign, this truly was a moment to remember. How They Met:
Tahmeed and Farzia initially met at a mutual friend’s house before going to a rave that took place in Sydney back in April 2018. They clicked from the get-go and felt something very magical happened at the rave, but they didn’t quite understand it for some time. They soon became good friends and a year later, best friends. All the while trying to deny the obvious spark and connection between them. After about a year and a half of trying to not let into these feelings, they finally decided to let go. So, he asked her to be his girlfriend on November 30th, 2019. After two years of being together, he decided to pop the question on the same day of the year, November 30th, 2021.
How They Proposed:
So, their second anniversary was coming up on the 30th of November 2021, and Farzia kind of had a hunch that Tahmeed could be up to something. He kept telling her that he wasn’t planning anything fancy and rather, they’d be going to some special places each day during the last ten days of the month. The places they went to included the location they first met, where they first hung out together where they first lived together. Those last ten days made her feel so special, and they got to take a walk down memory lane together. He kept telling her that he would propose to her on the 18th of December, 2021 as that’s her birthday.
On the big day, he told her that he would be taking them to a location they hadn’t visited yet. They were walking together when she started hearing the song “Brightest Light” by Lane 8 – one of their absolute favourite songs. At that moment, her heart skipped a beat and she couldn’t believe what was happening. They walked towards the fairytale proposal setting, where he got down on one knee to propose. She couldn’t stop herself from crying! He proposed and it all felt so surreal. She obviously said YES! Neither of them quite remember the exact words that were said in that moment, but they know they have never felt that feeling before, and they will cherish it forever!
