Valentine’s Day Date Night Ideas

Want to spoil that special someone on Valentine’s Day this year but not sure how to do it? Your romance experts are here to help! Here are our favourite Valentine’s Day date ideas to show your partner just how much you love them:

Unique Experience:

Plan the ultimate date night with a unique experience that you wouldn’t usually do together. Sydney Sea Life Aquarium has a romantic private dining experience including a private tour of the aquarium after hours! Enjoy a romantic meal together with your partner as you watch the fishes, sharks and turtles swim past – an experience to never forget! You could book a couple’s spa day in a luxury five-star hotel in the city or take your partner on a sunset cruise decked out with red roses and candles. We’ve partnered with Ahoy Club to bring you custom romantic experiences onboard their Double and Trouble vessels. Taking your partner somewhere new and experiencing something extra special will make this a Valentine’s Day to never forget.

Do an Activity:

Are you the thrill-seeking couple who loves an adventure? Why not plan an exciting activity that you can do together to celebrate your love. Take them on the dodgem cars or work your way out of an escape room together. Enjoy a night hopping on all the rides at Luna Park. If you want to arrange something extra special in Sydney for Valentine’s Day, why not book a sunset climb of the Harbour Bridge? Experience a once in a lifetime view with your other half!

Wine and Dine:

Tell your partner to get dressed up for the night and book a reservation at their favourite restaurant. Order their favourite bottle of wine and toast your love over a candlelit meal while you tell each other all the reasons you love them! You could even try a new high-end restaurant or a new cuisine to mix things up. After dinner, take a romantic stroll, hand in hand, and take in the city views together.

Picnic Date:

Take your partner to a beautiful garden, beach, or vantage point, roll out the picnic blanket and break out the snacks for a night to remember. Put together a delicious cheeseboard and grab a bottle of wine for you to sip on while you watch the sun set. If you want to go the extra mile, engage a picnic styling company to put together a romantic picnic setting for the two of you with a Happy Valentine’s Day sign, candles, roses, and gourmet bites to nibble on. Your partner will love you for going to the extra effort to make their Valentine’s Day truly memorable.

Drive In Movies:

For a date idea that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, the drive-in movies are the way to go! Throw some blankets and pillows in the car, drive to your partners place, pick them up and take them to the drive-in movies. There’s nothing more romantic than snuggling up together in the back of the car, sharing a bucket of popcorn and watching a romantic movie on the big screen. How very 90s rom com of you!

Date Night at Home:

Are you on a tight budget this year, but still want to spoil your partner with a beautiful Valentine’s Day surprise? You don’t need to spend big to create a grand gesture of love! There are a number of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day together from the comfort of your own home:

      • Romantic Dinner for Two – put down a tablecloth, light a candle or two, get out the fancy plates and cook your partner their favourite meal. You could even put together a Valentine’s Day Spotify Playlist with all your favourite couple songs to play in the background while you wine and dine.

      • Loungeroom Movie Night – grab the doona, some snuggle blankets, cushions and pillows and make a comfortable area in front of the television for the two of you to sit. Grab the popcorn, buy your partner’s favourite sweets, and put together a little chocolate fondu board to share. Then let your partner pick their favourite rom coms and watch movies together all night long. You could even decorate the loungeroom with fairy lights to create that extra wow factor!

      • Decorate your room with red roses, rose petals, candles, and fairy lights – the ultimate romantic setting! Put on some music and slow dance the night away. We can assure you they will love this!!

    Deliver Flowers:

If you aren’t able to see your partner on Valentine’s Day or you just want to give them an extra special surprise, arrange to deliver a bouquet of red roses to their workplace. This will make them feel super loved, and all their colleagues will be super jealous. Or if flowers aren’t really their thing, you can send a bouquet of donuts, chicken nuggets, lollies – you name it. Everyone knows that the way to your partner’s heart is through their stomach!
